Hello, all. Welcome to my latest attempt to empty the contents of my brain in a satisfactory manner.
I am once again Thoroughly Modern Tara. I am now a Dot Com. woohoo!
As some of you may know, this voyage began nearly four years ago with a simple and free blog that was basically a diary to friends and family back home. It charted my wild adventures (and misadventures) in a foreign land.
As I began to evolve, I started a website, the beloved but now deceased, Secretly Turkish. Much blood, sweat and tears was splashed upon those pages and many a person around the world was touched by those bodily excretions.
Over the years, I was honored by comments and email correspondence from strangers who felt some connection to my experiences through my words. It was a deeply humbling and emotional journey for me.
But alas, Secretly Turkish came to its end, as good things often do, and I threw flowers on its grave.
And for the last however long, I have been pissing my original content to the wind and allowing a free blog to make money off of it. It wasn’t very industrious of me, but being Sufi-minded as I am, I am not always thinking in the Big Picture terms of capital gain, becoming rich and famous, etc. And it’s people like me that keep these sorts of companies in business, so our ignorance or laziness (whichever the case may be) delights them.
But no more of that nonsense.
Tara Noble dot com is born.
I hope to use this website not as a means to rant and carry on about my personal life here in Turkey (besides, I am such a comfy citizen here that the well of novelty is running a tad dry), but as a means of charting my latest creative endeavors and projects.
Yes, by the beginning of the summer, I will once again be jumping into the glorious abyss of the great unknown.
For the first time in my working life, I will be without a stable job or consistent income. I will be realizing my lifelong job of traveling for the purpose of compiling research for writing books.
Ask me if I am excited. Ask me if I am nervous. The answer for both questions is the same, and incidentally is yes.
I hope that you will continue along this new journey with me because “the more the merrier” still reigns supreme as far as mottos go for me. I will do my best, as always, to keep it interesting.
I have also created a gallery of recent vacation pictures to the south of Turkey. Feel free to enjoy them and/or pant with jealousy;) I will be posting stories about the trip here and there.
Adios for now, beloved people.
you will undoubtedly find all kinds of things that sparkle and shine at the end of your rainbow..so just enjoy the trip…but remember you can’t have the beauty of a rainbow without the rain…so expect a little of that along the way too! I love you oodles and noodles…Mumsy
